The Austrian actress, Krista Stadler, born in 1942 in Vienna, graduated from the renowned school of Burgtheater actor Helmuth Krauss.
She acts on the Viennese stages of the Theater an der Wien and the Volkstheater, and has made guest appearances at the Salzburger Festival and in Berlin at the Freie Volksbühne and the Theater am Kurfürstendamm and the Renaissancetheater.
In 1974 she first appeared on TV in the series "Eine geschiedene Frau" with Inge Meysel in the leading role. After "Wallenstein" (1978), Krista Stadler played the leading role of Lena Rais in the TV movie of the same name by Christian Rischert. "Lena Rais" was awarded the Austrian State Film Prize as the best movie of 1980, and Krista Stadler won the award of "Best Actress."
After "Nach Mitternacht" (1981), "Lieber Karl" (1985) and "Aschenputtel" (1990), she acted in further feature films, as well as the series "Strauss Dynasty" with director Marvin Chomsky. In addition to comedies, such as "Fröhlich geschieden" with Rainhard Fendrich (1997), Krista Stadler has acted in numerous whodunits, such as Nico Hofmann's "Tödliche Wende" (1996), as well as the series "Wolffs Revier" (1996) and "Komissar Rex" (1999). In 2002 she acted in the highbrow movie based on Arthur Schnitzler's novel "Fräulein Else." In 2004 she had roles in Elisabeth Scharang's feature film debut "Mein Mörder," the fictive story of the inmate of a Nazi euthanasia institution.
