Guided Tours

The Highest Alpine Film Park in Europe

At an altitude of around 1,650 meters above sea level, the film-set builders (a team of more than 20 people) reconstructed the "historical village of Blons" (1953/54) on Alpe Oberpartnom in Sonntag (Great Walser Valley). Three carpenters from the Great Walser Valley built the film sets: the impressive village church (21 meters high, 18 meters long and 8 meters wide), the Adler Inn (an over 300-year-old farmhouse from Dünserberg, which was dismantled piece by piece and completely reconstructed at an altitude of 1,650 meters) and the Community Hall. The expense of building the film park was enormous, and the results are remarkable: "An alpine meadow has been turned into an alpine village from the mid-1900s."

Guided tours to the highest alpine film park in Europe at 1,650 meters can be taken with our specially trained trekking guides – a trek back into the year of 1953/54.

Program: Meeting point at House Walserstolz (Sonntag Stein / Great Walser Valley). Trip with cable car to Middle Station followed by approx. 1 hour trek to the highest alpine film park in Europe accompanied by a specially trained tour guide (trekking guide), who will explain the historical background of the movie and answer any questions about the making-of. After visiting the film park, there will be a light meal at Martha Bickel's in the legendary Breithornhütte directly above the film park at 1,687 meters altitude. If required, physically disabled persons can be transported with a small van (up to 6 persons/van) via a forest road to the film park.
