Ernst Konark studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. Since 1968, he has been living and working in Germany. His first engagement was at the Schauspielhaus Bochum (Theater Director Peter Zadek). In the meantime, he had several guest appearances at the Freie Bühne Berlin (Theater Director Kurt Hübner). Then he acted for three years at the Schaupiel Frankfurt (Theater Directro Peter Palitzsch), and also appeared on television HR. Next he went on tour with Xaver Kroetz. From 1984 to 1988, he acted at the Nationaltheater Mannheim (Theater Director Jürgen Bosse). After numerous roles in film and television, such as "Tatort;" "Komissar Rex;" Horrak in the ZDF TV series "Kottan ermittelt" from 1978-1981; (freelance with HR, SDR and SWR); he worked as an author, speaker and singer of Viennese cabaret chansons of the 1950s and 1960s (Leopoldi, Bronner, Sehle, Kreisler). Since 1997, he has worked with the Carmina Quartett for the Kyburgiade, the summer music festival in Winterthur, and has also directed plays and musicals. Since 1988 he has been acting at the Schauspiel Staatstheater Stuttgart.
